2017 is a exceptional year for collaborations.
While the industry dished out enough music
that over took the world, most of the
exceptional work has come from individualistic
efforts.
You can find them all in our list for songs of
the year.
Songs from this list have two or more people
combine talent to make inclusive art for
everyone. But notwithstanding, a few
musicians did come together to make great
music.
These songs contain dynamic efforts, with all
guest acts showing up with the ‘little
something extra’ to lift them above and
beyond.
These are the 5 Top Rated collaborations of
2017.
1. Wizkid Ft. Drake – ‘Come Closer’
I believe this the best collabo for this year.
Wizkid made the third records in his romance
with US rapper Drake.
This time it was for a personal project, off his
“Sounds From The Other Side” album. Drake
was a no-show for the video, but he wasn’t
really missed.
Much of the work was already done in the
booth. For the video, he was ‘Too mixed up in
drama, to go outside.”
2. Tiwa Savage Ft. Wizkid – ‘Ma Lo’
The Mavins First lady Tiwa Savage hit the
studio in 2017 with the purpose of
documenting her happiness. And once she
hooked up with producer Spellz and Wizkid,
magic was meant to happen.
Tiwa and Wizzy continue their fine
collaborative chemistry, winning the year once
again with a fresh take on the ‘Pon Pon’ trend.
And the hit was rumoured to be dedicated to
her husband regarding to there marriage
scandals.
3. Ycee Ft. Maleek Berry – ‘Juice’
Ycee ruled 2017 with the melody and slogan of
‘Juice’. Combining his drawling delivery with
Maleek Berry’s vocal dexterity, he found the
right record to define his year and keep his
star shining.
This record also contains one of Maleek
Berry’s best verses yet.
4. Timaya Ft. Phyno & Olamide – ‘Telli
Person’
Timaya as cemented his class in the industy
as a hit maker. The dance hall singer got it
right again this year. He understands how to
turn a great record into a pop hit.
This time, he becomes the chief adviser,
calling on the chemistry of Olamide and Phyno
to blend dance and conscious songwriting. The
moment it left the booth, it was a win.
5. Falz Ft. Ycee – ‘Something Light’
The Lawyer turn Rapper, Falz known for his
comic-diluted rap continues here with a nice
lyrics and the collaborative effort.
Something lights turns out to be the biggest
song on the recent “27” album, teaming up
with Ycee, they hit the call-and-response
button, activating a record that entertains as
well as it educates.
The End!!
